Chimaechi Ekekeugbor was named the Baruch Athlete of the Month for December 2014.

This is the first monthly honor for the freshman from Matawan, New Jersey.

For a complete list of his December highlights, please read below.

*Shot 6-9 from the floor, scoring 15 points and grabbing seven rebounds, in home rout over Stevens (12/3).

*Scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds in a road win at rival Hunter (12/5).

*Notched 16 points and six rebounds in road win at Staten Island (12/9).

*Shot 8-of-14 from the floor, finishing with a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, in a home win over last year’s CUNYAC champions York College (12/12).

*Finished the month with a 15 point, eight rebound performance versus #22 Randolph-Macon (12/30).

*Named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week three times and ECAC Rookie of the Week twice in December.

*Averaged 14.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
