Men's basketball player Carl Emengo was voted by members of the athletic department as the Baruch Athlete of the Month for December 2006.

Carl, despite fighting an ankle injury, had a solid month of basketball by averaging 21.1 points, five rebounds, and four assists a game.

He started the month with a 26-point effort against Methodist in the Embry-Riddle Tournament in early December in Florida.

He scored a team-high 26 points in a tough conference road loss to Lehman College on December 7.

The biggest performance of the month took place on December 29, as he scored a career-high 36 points against Clark University at the NYU Christmas Tournament. 

He scored 17 points against SUNY-Old Westbury the next day, and finished with 53 total points in the tournament. For his efforts, he was named to the NYU All-Tournament Team.
