Box Score

The men’s basketball team lost a 79-72 non-conference game in overtime to Farmingdale State University on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The visiting Rams (3-1) scored the first five points of overtime and that was enough of a cushion to take the victory in the annual game between schools from the CUNYAC and Skyline Conferences.

The Bearcats (2-2) started the game by quickly building a 24 point lead (39-15) with 5:43 remaining in the opening half.

Farmingdale fought back and slowly chipped away at the advantage until Daniel Phillips lay up with 17 seconds left tied the game at 69.

The Bearcats had a chance at the buzzer to win, but could not get the shot to drop to the disappointment of the home crowd.

Mike Campbell led four Rams players in double-figure scoring with a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds, while Daniel Phillips finished with 16 points. Erastus Shannon scored 12 points and came up big defensively with five steals.

Baruch’s Lionel Hilaire tied a career-high this evening with 20 points to go along with three steals in 41 minutes of action.

Steven Bader notched his third double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds), while Tammer Farid had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

George Kunkel was also busy this evening with seven points, 10 rebounds, five assists, five steals and five blocked shots in 40 minutes of action.

The men’s basketball team will return to action this Sunday, November 30, with a 2:00 pm game at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
